Terms & Conditions

  1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of web design and related services by Thorp Web Design (“the Designer”) to clients (“the Client”).

By engaging the Designer’s services, the Client agrees to be bound by these Terms.

  1. Services

The Designer provides services including, but not limited to:

  • Website design and development
  • Website maintenance
  • Hosting setup (if agreed)
  • SEO setup (basic or advanced where specified)

A full description of services will be outlined in a separate project agreement or proposal.

  1. Quotations & Acceptance
  • All quotes are valid for 30 days
  • Work will only commence once the Client has accepted the quote and paid any required deposit
  • Quotes are based on the agreed scope of work
  1. Payment Terms
  • A non-refundable deposit (typically 50%) is required before work begins
  • The remaining balance must be paid before project completion or website launch
  • Payments must be made within 28 days of invoice

Late payments may result in:

  • Project delays
  • Suspension of services
  • Additional charges (e.g. interest or admin fees)
  1. Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

  • Provide all required content, images, and materials
  • Ensure all materials provided are legally owned or licensed
  • Respond to requests for feedback in a timely manner

The Designer is not responsible for delays caused by the Client.

  1. Revisions & Scope Changes
  • Projects include a limited number of revisions as agreed in the proposal
  • Additional revisions or changes outside the agreed scope may incur extra charges
  • Significant changes may require a revised quote
  1. Intellectual Property
  • Ownership of the final website transfers to the Client only after full payment
  • The Designer retains the right to display completed work in their portfolio
  • Any third-party software, plugins, or assets remain subject to their respective licenses
  1. Hosting & Maintenance

Unless explicitly agreed:

  • Hosting and domain management are the Client’s responsibility
  • The Designer is not liable for issues arising from third-party hosting providers

Ongoing maintenance services, if provided, will be subject to a separate agreement.

  1. Website Performance & SEO
  • The Designer does not guarantee specific search engine rankings
  • Website performance may vary depending on hosting, content, and third-party factors
  1. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Designer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss
  • This includes (but is not limited to) loss of revenue, profits, or data

The total liability of the Designer shall not exceed the total fees paid for the services.

  1. Termination
  • Either party may terminate services in writing
  • Deposits are non-refundable
  • The Client must pay for all work completed up to the termination date
  1. Confidentiality

Both parties agree to keep confidential any sensitive information shared during the project.

  1. Data Protection

The Designer will comply with applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR.

Any personal data provided will be handled in accordance with the Designer’s Privacy Policy.

  1. Force Majeure

The Designer shall not be held liable for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control (e.g. illness, natural disasters, technical failures).

  1. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

  1. Changes to These Terms

The Designer reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be published on the website.
